CinemaNow Now Available on PlayStation 3 in the US
A brand new app is coming to your PS3 today!
October 25, 2011 – Sony Computer Entertainment America LLC (SCEA) today announced that CinemaNow™, Best Buy Co., Inc’s digital movie service, is now available to PlayStation®Network (PSN) users in the United States on the PlayStation®3 (PS3™) system. CinemaNow offers new release movies and next day TV episodes available to buy or rent on a pay-per-view basis with no monthly subscription fee. Cinemanow features a growing library of more than 15,000 movies and TV episodes and has content deals with all the major studios and many independent distributors.
The service offers new release movies available the same day they come out on DVD and popular TV shows available the day after they air. Additional features of CinemaNow include:
- Rent HD titles complete with Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 surround sound
- Stream content instantly to your PS3 system
- Purchases are stored in the cloud and can be played back on any internet connectible device featuring the CinemaNow service
PSN users can download the application now from the “Media & Apps” category in PlayStation®Store and launch it from the TV/Video Services icon of XMB™ (XrossMediaBar).
