Creator of Rayman Designs Level For Super Mario Maker
For Nintendo, Super Mario Maker is a chance for anyone and everyone to become a level designer using their classic character and objects from his games. The only limit with it is your imagination. So what happens when you give this power to a man who helped make a couple of iconic games himself? Well, that’s just what happened when Michel Ancel, the creator of Rayman and Beyond Good and Evil, took to the Wii U to make his own level in the game. You can see the video of his experience below, and we have some translated advice that he gives to those who are definitely interested in trying to make some cool levels in Super Mario Maker:
“The best way to start is to think about the flow of the level, make sure the space is adapted to what the character can do with its abilities (jumping, swimming, etc.),” he explained. “When making a level, it’s better to have a clear idea of what you want to do, and to avoid going in blind. You need to set a goal and work toward it. Once you’ve done that, you will quickly see the kind of problems you will have to solve in order to complete your level.”
Super Mario Maker comes out September 5th on the Wii U.
