Cyberpunk 2077 Will Have A Unique Class System
It looks like Cyberpunk 2077 will have an unusual class system when it eventually launches. The creator of the original tabletop game that the title is based on, Cyberpunk 2020, has revealed that all of the classes from his creation will make an appearance. Speaking to GameReactor, Mike Pondsmith explained how CD Projekt Red were staying true to his original vision.
“They’re (the classes) all going to be there, but I can tell you’re going to find some surprises about how we’ve done it and I think you’re really going to like it. There’s a lot of subtlety going on,” said Pondsmith. “The vision is really pretty close to what I had in my head years ago. When they did the CGI trailer, I looked at it and said, ‘Oh my God, that’s like, perfect.'”
This is the first bit of information to come out about Cyberpunk 2077 since the studio revealed that some of their files had been stolen. Some of these files contained information about the upcoming game, though the developer explained that these were largely unrepresentative of the current vision for the title.
Cyberpunk 2077 is the next major project for CD Projekt Red since the release of The Witcher 3 and its downloadable content packs. It was first announced in 2012 and a teaser trailer was published in 2013. The game has a tentative release date of 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
