Deadpool Animated Series Cancelled
Deadpool is without a doubt one of the hottest superheroes on the market. Which is ironic, because for a long time he was a cult character favorite only. Yet, because of his hit live-action debut in theaters, people are loving the Merc With A Mouth more than ever. So much so that an animated series featuring him was planned for FXX. Today though, it was revealed that the project has been canceled.
Apparently, the team behind the series, Donald Glover and his brother Stephen Glover were having “creative differences” with the people at FX, and because of the collaboration was canceled. Here’s the full statement:
“Due to creative differences, FX, Donald Glover, Stephen Glover and Marvel Television have agreed to part ways on Marvel’s Deadpool animated series,” they said in their statement. “FX will no longer be involved with the project. FX and Marvel have an ongoing relationship through our partnership on Legion, which will continue.”
This is interesting for numerous reasons, not the least of which is because Donald Glover has his hit show Atlanta on FX And as noted above, Legion is on FX and is a big hit. So something really big must have happened for “creative differences” to be had.
