Deathgarden Enters Steam Early Access August 14
No sooner does one multiplayer survival horror game see a release date than we hear about another one. The developers of Daemonical may want to rip their hair out upon hearing this: Behaviour Digital’s Deathgarden will enter Steam Early Access one day before Daemonical, and it will also boast a free week of gameplay at launch.
In Deathgarden, six players are loaded onto a map. Five of them are designated Runners, while one is chosen as the Hunter. The Hunter has a first-person viewpoint; the Runners see the game from a third-person perspective.
“I would like to thank our community for providing mountains of insightful feedback during closed beta,” says said Matt Jackson, design director at Behaviour. “We have been improving the game with all of it in mind and can’t wait for you to join us in early access. And this is only the beginning – we will continue to deliver regular title updates throughout the coming months!”
Despite the Early Access version not being up yet, you can buy Deathgarden today. Why would you want to do so? Because they’re offering a free upgrade to the normally more expensive Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes exclusive Origin cosmetic sets, a digital copy of the game’s soundtrack, and a digital art book.
Since it’s kind of unreasonable to expect anyone to buy Deathgarden unseen, there will be two chances for this offer: one prior to the Early Access release, and one after the free first week has expired. You must decide which you want — the free week or the extra stuff. The game costs $29.99.
There are also console plans for Deathgarden….both the Playstation 4 and the XBox One are scheduled to get their own versions sometime in 2019.
