Destiny: New Video Explores the House of Wolves Expansion
The next expansion for Activision and Bungie’s new hit video game franchise, Destiny, is right around the corner with Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves. In anticipation of the launch of the new DLC, Activision has released a new behind-the-scenes video that offers players a look into the House of Wolves.
House of Wolves is significant because it will offer players a brand new social space in the Reef. Here, Guardians will get their new story missions from Petra Venj, the Queen’s Blade. In House of Wolves, Guardians now have to quell an uprising of the Fallen House of Wolves, who were previously granted mercy by the Queen of the Reef. The video does provide a look at the Fallen Wolf Kell, Skolas. His design is unique and at least different from many of the other Fallen enemies players have had to face before. In the past, it seemed like bosses in the game were nothing more than blown-up, re-skinned versions of existing enemies. That even seemed ot be the case for Crota in Crota’s End. The video also showcases the new gladiator cooperative combat arena, The Prison of Elders. I like the idea of Trials of Osiris providing a more competitive PvP mode that will offer greater rewards and gear. However, if it turns out as random as the rewards given for previous modes in Destiny, that will be very disappointing.
The House of Wolves DLC looks like it has some interesting new features, but hopefully it will offer some decent depth. This is considering that the developers were unable to incorporate a new Raid mission for the House of Wolves expansion. Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves launches on Tuesday, May 19 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
