Blizzard provides update on Diablo 3 PvP
While Diablo 3 was a highly anticipated game by many, it certainly fell short of many players’ expectations. Now, we’ve come to learn that Diablo 3 might have more bad news for players who are eagerly anticipating its PvP feature.
While there has been a lot of hype about it’s PvP leading up to its launch, players did not manage to get their hands on it. While some may argue that the Diablo series has primarily been a PvE orientated game, many still feel that PvP can help to break up the monotony of gear grinding.
[pullquote_right]…at this point we don’t believe it’s the experience we feel it needs to be in order to ship, so we will be shelving it for now and exploring other options.[/pullquote_right]That being said, according to a new blog post, game director Jay Wilson has said that the current Team Deathmatch “falls short of our expectations for a high-quality Blizzard experience”. He then goes on to explain that class balance and the aim of Team Deathmatch isn’t where it needs to be and as such, they are going to shelf the idea of Diablo 3 Team Deathmatch entirely.
However, the idea of PvP isn’t entirely scrapped. With game update 1.0.7, players will get to see the addition of Duels in Diablo 3. While it isn’t much, it is at least a start for players to whet their lips on PvP.
