Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum Detailed
Many superheroes, or superhero groups, have a place they call home base. The Avengers have Avengers tower or Avengers Mansion, the X-Men have the school, the Fantastic Four have the Baxter Building, and so on. For Doctor Strange though, he has the mystical Sanctum Sanctorum. A place that is both magical, yet rests in the heart of New York City. According to set designer Charles Woods, the Sanctum will be getting a visual overhaul for the upcoming film Doctor Strange:
“[The Sanctum Sanctorum] was probably the most important space we’ve got, the most iconic space,” he said
“When you walk into the Sanctum Sanctorum you can either do two things, you can walk into it and your experience could be, “This is what it is, it’s a great looking place, it’s kind of weird,” or you can walk into it and be blown back a bit. We try to do the second part of that. We hope. It’s a strange world, but it should be.”
As for what it will look like exactly, although some concept art was shown, he was mum on the details:
“You’re going to have to wait. I couldn’t possibly tell you that. It’s a good question,” he said. “I’m going to get in trouble. It’s unexpected, let’s put it like that. Sorry.”
Doctor Strange arrives in theaters November 4th.
