Arrow Executive Producer Says Not to Expect Hal Jordan Anytime Soon
For Flash and Arrow, the popular DC Comics shows on The CW, it’s almost a weekly event to see what pieces of DC comic book history history end up in each episode. A couple of Easter Eggs that showed up on the recent endings of The Flash and Arrow were call outs to Hal Jordan, aka Green Lantern. These signaled, or teased may be better wording here, that he could potentially show up in the series. However, that’s really not case, as Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim told The Hollywood Reporter.
“They announced the Green Lantern Corps movie, and I’d be surprised if it didn’t include Hal Jordan,” said Guggenheim, who last year lost Deadshot to the Suicide Squad film. “It would be great but I doubt it very much.”
Now before you say, “he can appear twice like Flash will!”, there’s a difference. The Flash aired before the movie slate was announced. In addition, the second season was approved before that was announced, so Flash was staying. Also, think of what happened with the Suicide Squad on Arrow. It was a big deal at first, then they “killed” off Deadshot and basically confirmed that because of the movie, the team wouldn’t appear again in Arrow.
So while it was cool, and we may get more teases, but for the moment, the movie is going to be the only place we see Green Lantern. The new seasons of The Flash and Arrow air Oct. 6th and 7th on The CW.
