DOOM Open Beta Gets Extended
Players will have some extra time to play the open beta for the latest installment of the DOOM franchise. id Software made the official announcement on the company’s Twitter account, and you can check out the tweet below. The beta session will remain up for all platforms on which its available.
The beta will now end on Monday, April 18 at 11:59 pm EST. It’s original end date was set to be Sunday, April 17. This sounds like a good move by Bethesda and id to give players more time for the game. In addition, it sounds very encouraging for the game’s future success, and players seem to be enjoying and liking the beta so far. Now it will be interesting to see what happens when the game finally launches next month and Bethesda can breathe some new life into this classic first-person shooter franchise again.
The beta provides players access to two gameplay maps and two modes of play in 6v6 Team Deathmatch and Warpath. There also a number of weapons and power-ups at players’ disposal for them to experiment with for the beta.
The DOOM beta is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The full game hits the shelves on May 14 for the same platforms.
