Dragon Ball Z Animator Reveals Fav Character
Masaski Sato is known by many in the anime/animation industry, as he was the main animator for both Dragon Ball, and it’s sequel series Dragon Ball Z. His character models and designs have resounded with many over the years. Which is no doubt the reason that Dragon Ball is still popular to this day, including having theatrical releases and the new anime series Dragon Ball Super.
In an interview with Hobby Consolas, Sato talked about his time on the series, including who his favorite characters were:
“My favorite character is Goku, of course!” he said. “Especially because of all the scenes I’ve created about him.”
But he also acknowledged that a lesser character also had gotten his affections, Tien.
“I also like Tien Shin Han with his energy cannon. In the Z stage, during the battle against Vegeta and Nappa, although Tien had gained power, he was beaten by Nappa, cutting his arm cleanly. My feeling was, “Wow, this is Tien! What a great force!’ It was fun to create that scene and surprising for Tien to see the huge difference in strength between the Saiyans and others. Tien, despite everything, managed to hurt Nappa even a little. I would like to Tien appear more in the future of the series!”

I knew his favorite character was always Goku, I actually think he created Goku based on himself in someway. Goku is the main character therefore makeing him the coolest amoung the rest and of course his scenes are the best he has created.

I like Goku and all but there are many characteristics that I don't like about him. He isn't really a good father, he mostly cares about training, and he doesn't care much about the severity of the situation as long as he gets to fight someone strong. That's quite selfish. I like Piccolo the most out of all.

Interesting! I like Goku and the other characters too. Don't like the evil ones though they are all so cold blooded and seem to be non-stopable. Goku keeps on dying though which is sad. Goku is the main character of DBZ that has a lot of twists and turns to the story. I like DBZ and watch it every week.

(SPOILERS) It's sometimes Goku's fault when he dies, though. When he fought Hit, he wasn't really trying so he got assassinated momentarily. He never starts off with full power until he's finally backed into a corner. He's the one that hired Hit for his assassination.
