As some Dragon Quest fans may already be aware of, the 3DS edition of DQ VII will feature a full orchestral score. But this wouldn’t be a reality if it wasn’t for series producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto who asked Dragon Quest long time composer Koichi Sugiyama if it would be possible to compose orchestrated work for the 3DS game. Sugiyama didn’t quite agree to the idea at first, as he believed they should probably┬á stick with the synthesizer, just as they did with the original game, being rather unsure of the 3DS’s ability to produce the same quality of an orchestra.

Fujimoto eventually convinced Sugiyama to try this out, in which he was able to extract and adjust each instrument accordingly, thus making it possible to hear the beautiful work Sugiyama is known for producing. Im excited myself, and can’t wait to get my hands on Dragon Quest VII when it hits stateside.
