E3 2017: New Yoshi Game Coming In 2018
Another surprise that came out of the Nintendo E3 Spotlight was a new Yoshi game coming to the Nintendo Switch. But unlike Yoshi’s last title, Yoshi’s Wooly World, Yoshi seems to be going on a much grander adventure. However, Nintendo still is sticking to the new “medium” aesthetic they’ve been doing over the last few years. This time, going with cardboard as a medium.
The as of yet untitled Yoshi game features the use of cardboard to showcase how every level “has a flip side”. Making it reminiscent of games such as Kirby Triple Deluxe, Super Paper Mario, and even LittleBigPlanet. Some things that are noticed in the trailer (seen below) is that co-op will be back, you can cause the stage to “flip” at any point, and there are going to be a lot of things to collect and battle.
Nintendo does love its classic platformers, and this Yoshi game seems like a perfect fit for that. Yoshi will arrive on Nintendo Switch in 2018.
