E3 – Standby for new Titanfall Modes
Standby for new Titanfall modes – that’s the message given by developer Respawn Entertainment via their official blog while they showcase the new modes Titanfall at E3. The forthcoming update for Titanfall will provide updates for a variety of features in Titanfall, but will most notably offer players two new game modes. Titanfall launched in March of this year and according to publisher EA CEO Peter Moore is the best selling game on the Xbox One so far, even though it launched some four months after the console debuted.
The new update will be the first to offer new modes – Titanfall received its first downloadable content pack last month containing three new maps, but no new game modes. The new update will release on XBox One and PC later this month, followed shortly on Xbox 360. The two new modes are Marked For Death and Wingman Last Titan Standing. The official blog explains;
“Marked for Death – MFD is a 6v6 mode where one player per team is “Marked for Death”. Teams need to protect their own marked player while hunting down the enemy Pilot. Once a target is killed, new Pilots are marked. This is a fast paced mode that challenges players to fully explore maps and coordinate as a team.
Wingman LTS – This is a 2v2 version of Last Titan Standing. It’s our first non 6v6 mode and relies on teamwork and strategy. Great for players who want to play an even more tactical version of LTS.”
The update will also include Burn Cards for use on Titans as well as pilots, for overcharged Titan weapon power as an example, and Titan customization which includes the option to add decals to your Titan and customize between three different Titan voiceovers. A full patch update will be provided nearer to launch, but so far it appears that these updates will form a standard patch for all players rather than be provided as paid DLC or as part of the Titanfall season pass.
We’ll bring you more details regarding the next Titanfall update as it comes in, but for now you can read the Titanfall E3 blog in full here.
