Episode Two of The Aetherlight Released
Episode 2: The Resistance Takes Flight, the second installment of developer Scarlet City Studios hit preteen adventure game The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance, has officially launched. The Aetherlight retells the epic Biblical story in an exciting steampunk world filled with quests, puzzles, crafting, and more. Episode 2 takes the Resistance’s fight against the evil Usurper to the air with majestic airships.
“The acceptance of The Aetherlight has been nothing short of amazing,” said Tim Cleary, World Builder and Chief Creative Officer for Scarlet City Studios. “It’s so inspiring how a game from an independent studio in New Zealand has made its way to homes all across North America and around the world! And the best part is, it just keeps getting better with Episode 2’s release this week and Episode 3′s launch later this year.”
Episode 2: The Resistance Takes Flight sees the fledgling Resistance set out to power more of the Great Engines around No Man’s Landing. To do this, players will need to enlist the help of two volatile brothers, racers in the Aethasian underground Airship Racing League. When the racing partnership falls apart, a new team will be needed to get the Resistance in the air by any means necessary.
The Aetherlight: Chronicles of the Resistance is an episodic adventure, unfolding over several chapters released every few months. In the game, players join the Resistance and work with the mysterious Scarlet Man against the evil Usurper while questing and crafting their way through a fantastic steampunk world.
Scarlet City Studios is a small New Zealand-based gaming studio with an epic goal: to take the greatest story ever told and re-tell it for a digital generation. Established in 2012 to advance the historic mission of a postal Sunday school ministry, Scarlet City took the epic tale of the Bible and re-imagined it as a steampunk, allegorical story that would be entertaining, educational, formational, and creative.
