Everyone’s Getting A Horror Anthology, Including Aubrey Plaza
Horror anthologies are the hip new trend in cable, from Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story to SyFy’s new creepypasta adaption series Channel Zero. The Lifetime network will also be getting one soon, A Midsummer’s Nightmare. It would seem now we’ve reached the “parody” stage of the phenomenon, because now TBS wants to put on “Nightmare Time,” a spoof of the genre brought to us by Aubrey Plaza.
TBS hasn’t committed to the idea yet, but has ordered a pilot. Plaza will write and co-star, and it sounds like she’s playing herself….
Set in Aubrey Plaza’s Nightmare Clinic, celebrity guests check in to overcome recurring nightmares. Thanks to advanced technology, we’re able to peer into their restless minds, and witness their nightmares in real time. But what is ‘real’ anyway? Maybe it’s all just a nightmare in Aubrey’s mind. One endless nightmare that could eventually destroy her and the entire world.
Currently, the next show to have Aubrey Plaza in it will be FX’s Legion, a new drama set in the X-Men universe. But there could soon be two on the air, if Plaza’s voodoo spells on the TBS executives work properly.
