What To Expect When You’re Black Friday-ing
If you own a suit of armor, have a black belt in martial arts, or just don’t care about desecrating a sacred American tradition with pure greed, the barbaric annual event known as Black Friday may be for you. Advertisements and circulars from all the major big boxes are just beginning to be purposely leaked, and here are a few of the newly-announced deals you can look forward to seeing in the video game department…..
Target will be offering Super Mario 3D Land for $15, last-gen versions of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag and Call of Duty Ghosts for $15 also, and current-gen versions of those games for $25. The new Madden is 50% off for last-gen and $35 for current-gen. Skylanders and Disney Infinity humungo-sets will be $39.99, a savings of $35.
If you can find a K-Mart, you can buy Destiny for $30. Grand Theft Auto 5, Just Dance 2014 and Call of Duty: Ghosts are also low in price but not as much as they’ll be at Target. The new Madden is $34.99.
If a new console is what you’re after, Best Buy will sell you:
A Playstation 4 with Grand Theft Auto 5 and The Last Of Us Remastered, for $399 (this is the normal price, but two games are typically not included)
The 500GB XBox One with the Kinect, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag, Dance Central Spotlight and an additional controller, all for $429 (regularly $499)
A Wii U with Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Nintendo Land and the new Super Smash Bros. For Wii U, bundled for $359.97
Target is offering:
An XBox 360 for $179 (including Kinect)
The Nintendo 2DS (regular price) with a free copy of Yoshi’s New Island
Many other stores have yet to reveal their plans for Thanksgiving weekend. We’ll be back with details on the offerings of other brick-and-mortars (and online markets) in a future article. Until then, be sure to tell everyone you know a curved HDTV is a stupid idea.
