Final Fantasy VII's Cloud Official for Super Smash Bros.
Nintendo officially announced in today’s edition of Nintendo Direct that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS will be getting a special new playable character with the classic Final Fantasy hero Cloud Strife! You can check out the video announcement of Cloud for the game in the player below. Skip ahead to 42:10 of the video to check out the arrival of Cloud to Super Smash Bros.
Cloud Strike will be armed with his trademark Buster Sword. Along with that, it looks like his alternate skin will be Cloud’s look from Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. In addition, there will be a new Midgar environment stage as well.
The Nintendo Direct announcement did not reveal when Cloud will be available for Smash Bros. players. However, the video did say that a special Super Smash Bros. “Special Broadcast” is coming in December 2015. Hopefully, more details on the release of Cloud and a Cloud Amiibo figure will be clear at around that time.
This is probably music to the ears of Final Fantasy VII fans. Not only are FFVII fans getting a full remake of the original game for the PlayStation 4, but they will also have the opportunity to play as the game’s protagonist Cloud on Super Smash Bros. for both the Wii U and 3DS. Hopefully, that means Nintendo is also planning Cloud’s Amiibo. A variant of Cloud in his Advent Children uniform would not be a bad choice either.
