Five Nights at Freddy's Coming to Consoles?
It seems Five Nights at Freddy’s could be getting some console ports in the near future. Scott Cawthon, creator of the genre-transcending horror game series, revealed in response to a fan question on the game’s Steam community page that this could eventually become a reality.
When asked if there was any chance of the Five Nights at Freddy’s series getting a port to video game consoles, specifically Nintendo’s Wii U. Cawthon responded, “Actually, yes! It will happen. I’m talking with a few companies who are interested in doing console remakes of the original games.”
Cawthon didn’t share any other details, but that’s a pretty firm confirmation that he’s in talks to make a deal for some console ports of the hit PC horror game series. The remakes would be of the original games and not the recent RPG spin-off Five Nights at Freddy’s World.
A teaser site recently launched for the next installment for the franchise, which is currently titled Sister Location, which can be seen at this link. The release details for that game will be revealed later on.
Console ports for the Five Nights at Freddy’s series sound like a great idea. It also sounds like a great way to get some more money out of the franchise and expose the game series to another audience and more gamers.
