I have been invited to criticize some new songs by upcoming artiste but I am afraid I don't know how to do it, except from the usual amateurish criticism. How do you criticize a song using professional terms like tempo, bridge, and the like?

I know that this link is for the website "slicethepie", but it has some really useful tips for music critics in general and has helped me a lot. http://chasmac.hubpages.com/hub/slicethepie-reviews . I don't use Slicethepie, but it is a great article there.

No problem! It's got some good word banks on there too which are pretty useful. Good luck!

Try to work on loving music music. When you are really into it, commenting on it is much easier. Listen to a lot of different songs, new and old, and you'll start appreciating the different styles and stuff like that.
