Game Director For Rise Of The Tomb Raider Has Left Crystal Dynamics! Find Out Why Here!
It’s not uncommon for developers to leave one studio for another, but it can be when the one they’re leaving just had a successful game under their guidance. Such is the case with Brian Horton of Crystal Dynamics, who has been revealed to have left the studio of which he was game director for the recent Rise of the Tomb Raider.
“It’s been a huge honor to be a part of the Tomb Raider franchise and the team at Crystal Dynamics,” shared Horton via a post on Tumblr. “I’ve met fans from all over the world, both in person and online, to share in our love for the franchise and Lara Croft. After working on two amazing games, my family and I have decided to return to Southern California and start a new adventure. As sad as I am to leave the team at Crystal, I’m excited to play their future games as a fan. Thanks again for the years of support and feedback and I hope to stay in touch with you all online.”
As to where he’s going next, it’s been revealed he will be the Art Studio Director for Infinity Ward, the team behind the Call of Duty franchise. Most likely working on the next title to come later this year.
