Games With Gold titles for February Announced
Microsoft’s Games With Gold program continues into February with a collection of free games for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Users of the older Xbox console will be able to get their hands on Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons from 1 February until 14 February, while Sniper Elite V2 will be available to download for the second half of the month. Meanwhile, the Xbox One is receiving the newly launched #IDARB for the entirety of February.
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is a puzzle platformer that first released in 2013. It won numerous awards for its emphasis on storytelling and cinematic visuals, receiving critical acclaim and was eventually released on the PlayStation 3 and Steam. The unique gameplay mechanics tasks the player with controlling two brothers at the same time to solve puzzles and further the plot. On the other hand, Sniper Elite V2 is a shooter that places focus on the tactical elements of gunplay that hit store shelves in 2012. It was less well received than Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons but was popular enough to justify a prequel in 2014.
As well as the usual free titles, Xbox Live Gold members also have exclusive access to a variety of special deals on other games and downloadable content. These include large discounts on several leading titles, such as 40% off Just Dance 2015, 60% off Battlefield 4, a 50% reduction in the price of Madden 15 Super Bowl and 67% off the usual price of Titanfall. Mass Effect DLC will also be on sale throughout February, along with the Titanfall season pass as well as a collection of XBLA titles that includes Tony Hawk Pro Skater and TMNT: Out of the Shadows. The full list of discounted content can be seen at Major Nelson’s website.
