Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Set for Public Beta
CD Projekt officially confirmed this week that there will be a Public Beta for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game. The new beta test is set for May 24, and it will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
Per CD Projekt RED Development Director Benjamin Lee, “Public Beta is the next step in the game’s development process, one that we’d be honored to continue alongside everyone who’s been with us thus far. It’s also a chance for many new gamers to play GWENT for the first time and we’re looking forward to making the game even better with their help.”
Additionally, CD Projekt RED will be providing a live video stream overview of the Public Beta for Gwent on the developer’s official Twitch Channel, which you can check out at this link.
The Public Beta will reset the card collection and player progress for all players. Every player will begin the game on equal footing as a result. Players who took part in the Closed Beta will now receive Card Kegs, other in-game rewards, and more. Going from the Closed Beta to the Public Beta will be part of a short technical transition period for the game starting May 22, until the Public Beta officially kicks off on May 24. At that time, game servers for Gwent will be offline for maintenance.
CD Projekt RED confirmed that more updates will be available on the game’s Facebook and Twitter channels later on. More information for Gwent and the Public Beta can be found at playgwent.com. The game does not yet have a full, official launch date, but hopefully this pushes the game closer to that point. It also seems the game will definitely have a PS4 release as well.
