Halo Video Celebrates 15th Anniversary
This week is a pretty momentous event for a certain video game series. 343 Industries has announced that this is a special week for the Halo video game franchise. The Halo series celebrates its 15th anniversary this week. The first video game in the series debuted this week in November 2001 for the original Xbox console. It’s almost hard to believe it’s been 15 years since the first game was released.
To go along with the special event, 343 Industries will be starting a special Halo 5 “Anniversary Throwback” Playlist. This means maps from Halo: Combat Evolved will be reintroduced for the latest game thanks to some community builders. So these will be recreations of classic maps for Xbox One and Halo 5.
There will also be a special Play With 343 day. For this occasion, team members from 343 Industries will be online and playing the latest game for the Anniversary Throwback playlist. 343 Industries will publish the gamertags later on for players who want to participate with the team members. You can also join the Halo Club on Xbox Live.
Halo 5 Guardians is currently available now for Windows PC and Xbox One. Additionally, you can check out the 15th anniversary event teaser video for the franchise in the player below. It’s nice to look back at the game’s long and illustrious history. The official anniversary date is Tuesday, November 15 and kicks off at 3:43 pm.
