Heatwave Actor Talks Meeting “New” Captain Cold In Arrowverse Crossover
The upcoming DCTV crossover between Supergirl, Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow is set to be its biggest one ever. “Crisis On Earth-X” will bring all four shows together along with a fifth show in The Ray: Freedom Fighter, the animated series debuting on CWSeed. This crossover, however, will mark the end of several characters, including Wentworth Miller as Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold. He is going to be back as the Earth-X version of the character: Citizen Cold, which DC Comics fans will know from the Flashpoint comic book.
Well, inevitably, that means that he’ll team up with Dominic Purcell’s Heatwave once again, and Purcell talked about what that was like with Comic Book Resources:
“Oh, well, the writers brought them together.” he said, “What I can elaborate on is that the relationship between Heatwave and Captain Cold — or not Captain Cold… Citizen [Cold]. It’s changed. The audience will really see a difference in his character, and also how Rory reacts to this new… you know, Captain Cold, if you will. So it was interesting. We’re dealing with some really topical stuff.”
He goes on to note how much he enjoys working with him:
“You know, it’s always fun working with Went[worth Miller]. He’s one of my best mates, and we have an on-screen chemistry that is unsurpassed. You know, we call each other ‘frick and frack,’ ‘salt and pepper,’” Purcell added. “Again, I keep repeating this, it’s just easy working with Went, because he’s a great friend and we both work so much together and on so many shows that our rhythms are so in sync. So it’s just not difficult at all.”
Arrowverse fans will be sad to see Captain Cold go, but it looks like he’ll be going out in style.
