Homecoming, Venom, Black Cat/Silver Sable Films In One Universe
With the impending arrival of Spider-Man: Homecoming, everyone is eager to see what this new film will mean for Spider-Man, Marvel, and Sony. What’s interesting though is that there are already two Spider-Man spinoff films happening. One is a Venom film starring Tom Hardy, and the other is a Black Cat/Silver Sable team up film. This is odd as Homecoming hasn’t released yet, making some wonder whether the films are even connected to the main one.
Well, in an interview with FilmStarts, the producer of both Homecoming and the upcoming Venom film, Amy Pascal, noted that all these films will be in the same universe.
“Well, those movies will all take place in the world that we’re now creating for Peter Parker. They’ll all be adjuncts to it. They may be different locations, but it will still all be in the same world. They will all be connected to each other as well.”
On the topic of whether Spider-Man himself would appear, she noted, “There’s a chance. There’s always a chance. I think one of the things that Kevin has done with Marvel that’s so brilliant is bringing the fans along and making each movie seem like a chapter in a book that you have to read in order to go forward, and I think the investment that the fans get to feel in being part of a larger story and understanding what’s happening is something that I know Sony would want to emulate.”
Spider-Man Homecoming arrives July 7th.
