Horror Takes Center Stage Day Before San Diego Comic-Con
Ahead of the official start to SDCC 2018 IT Chapter 2, Annabelle 3, The Nun and The Curse Of La Llorona take the spotlight.
With summer being halfway over, we are bound to get news on some fall horror films in time for Halloween and summer horror in the near future. From announcements and release dates, this will cover what is known so far.
IT: Chapter 2
We have been given a release date for the sequel to the well received and highly successful first chapter. The release date is September 9th 2019. Chapter two will focus on the adult lives of The Losers Club and the final confrontation with Pennywise the clown.
At the panel the audience was shown a behind the scenes package since the film itself is deep in production. However, according to director Andy Muschietti, “It’s going to be scarier, it’s going to be more intense, so bring your adult diapers.”
Hopes are high for this film to follow and pass the first chapter.
The Curse Of La Llorona
Previously called The Children, La Llorona was shown off with some footage from the film. The movie is based off the Latin legend of La Llorona, a weeping woman who drowned her own children. The story is about a 1970s social worker who discovers odd and creepy similarities with her own life and the case she’s working on.
The Curse of La Llorona will come out April 19th 2019, just in time for the summer horror market.
The Nun
Fans of The Conjuring series have been excited for The Nun since it was announced. At the presentation, guests saw footage of the film. However the highlight of the show to most were the dozen faceless nuns that entered the stage. The Nun will come out September 7th 2018
Annabelle 3
Finally Annabelle 3 has been announced and will be coming out next July. It is being described as “A Night at the Museum, with Annabelle!” According to Wan.
