Humble Bundle Hits The Nintendo eShop
For the first time in Humble Bundle history, the indie game promoter/charity is offering console games. And in an interesting twist, it’s a Nintendo console they’re offering them for. Based on the stories you hear about Nintendo being so hard to work with, it’s surprising (and pleasing) to see them beat Sony or Microsoft to the punch on something consumer-friendly.
If you’ve never participated in one before, in a Humble Bundle you get to set your own price for a stack of indie games. If you set that price high enough you’ll get extra rewards, and part of the cash goes to a charitable cause. This time a dollar or more gets you Guacamelee Championship Edition for Wii U and Woah Dave and Mighty Switch Force for 3DS. Both Guacamelee and Mighty Switch Force are great games to get for almost nothing, and if you pay what just one of them is actually worth, you’ll unlock the entire bundle. This includes OlliOlli, Stealth Inc. 2, and even games that haven’t been revealed yet.
Before you turn your Wii U or 3DS on to get these deals, you can’t access the Humble Bundle from the eShop itself. This purchase has to be made through the Humble Bundle website. (If you don’t live in North America, don’t go anywhere because you’re not allowed to buy anything, sorry.)
The Humble Nindie Bundle will last for the next two weeks. Proceeds benefit Code.org, a non-profit that works to expand computer science education and encourage participation in the field by women and students of color.
