Humble Bundle Introduces Gamepage For Indie Devs
Over the last few days, Humble Bundle have been rolling out Gamepages, a new service offered to developers who want to build a website dedicated to selling their game. This is chiefly notable for developers who want to (or already do) sell their games through the Humble Widget, but don’t want to create and pay for a standalone website to host said widget. Speaking about why they decided to create Gamepages, Humble Bundle have said:
“We hope that this service will help developers maintain pages for all of their games and lead to more customers buying directly from developers. We think it’s important for game developers to reach customers directly and one of the best ways to do that is with your own website.”
Gamepages will let Indie Devs have a number of options when creating and customizing their page, such as:
- Set the tone with an introductory image or video
- Responsive design that looks great on mobile and desktop
- Social integration to engage more customers on Twitter and Facebook
- Display key art and screenshots with media carousels
- Inform customers about platform availability, system requirements, and other important details
- Easily integrate Google Analytics
- Create, manage, and update your page directly through self service tools
Speaking about why developers should create a Gamepage, Humble Bundle further added that many Indie Devs currently have to create their own website page in order to host the Humble Bundle widget, and there can be a number of costs through that, many of which Indie Devs just can’t afford. Gamepages, however, is free and allows Indie Devs to:
- Accept payments via credit card, PayPal, Amazon and Bitcoin
- Keep 95% of the proceeds
- Deliver Steam keys, DRM-free downloads, or both
- Link to other platforms such as Xbox, PlayStation, iTunes, and Google Play
- Humble Bundle handles international taxes and regulations
- Humble Bundle protects you from fraud
- No fees for pageviews, bandwidth, or payment support
