I Am Alive Doubtful for PC
After the controversy that occurred when I Am Alive was announced that it would not be releasing for PC, Stanislas Mettra has come out to reiterate his previous point.
Yesterday an interview was conducted by Incgamers with Stanislas Mettra, creative director of I Am Alive. In this interview he stated that:
“there’s so much piracy and so few people are paying for PC games.”
Thus a PC version of the title just wasn’t viable at this point.
This of course sent PC fanboys and girls into an incoherent rage (maybe a bit extreme?), and Mettra wanted to clarify that he’s not against the PC platform, but that it’s just not in the cards right now.
He also had this to say:
“It’s hard because there’s so much piracy and so few people are paying for PC games that we have to precisely weigh it up against the cost of making it. Perhaps it will only take 12 guys three months to port the game to PC, it’s not a massive cost but it’s still a cost. If only 50,000 people buy the game then it’s not worth it.”
Here is a trailer of the game if you haven’t seen it yet:

The game is confirmed to be released for XBLA and PSN in 2012.

Ofcourse they fail to mention the fact that their DRM policies have caused a massive drop in sales, one that isn’t being backed up by a thriving game community, which means pirates are not actually hitting the companies as hard as they wish us to believe, because if they were, sales would be down, but gaming communities would be booming.
And why the massive drop in sales? The DRM is actually making it so people who buy legit copies get messed up and can’t play.
