If You Want A Bayonetta Amiibo, Today’s The Day
An entire year ago, the final DLC characters for Super Smash Bros. on Wii U were released: Cloud, Corrin and Bayonetta. Nintendo promised amiibo figures for each of them, and it was a loooong wait after that, but a street date for those figures was finally revealed during the last Nintendo Direct video: July 21.
To make up for the waiting, the last Smash amiibo would come in two pairs each: two Clouds (one in his Advent Children form), two Corrins (one male, one female) and two Bayonettas (one in her sequel costume, and a “Player 2” variant in her original outfit). Since most Bayo fans prefer the original suit, everyone wanted to know where to get it.
And for the longest time, that information was absent. Preorders quickly went up at Gamestop and Toys R Us for their exclusive amiibo (and sold out just as fast), but two remained a mystery: Bayonetta Player 2 and Majora’s Mask Link. Nobody even knew WHAT store would be getting them, only that they would have exclusive dibs on the stock.
Today the store in question was confirmed to be Best Buy as preorders for Bayonetta Player 2 silently went up. Notice I said nothing about the Majora’s Mask Link — that’s because it sold out hours after preorders went up and you can’t buy it anymore. But as of this writing you can still reserve Bayo, so if you want one, hop to it!
Nintendo’s next line of amiibo, including the mentioned figures above, comes out July 21.
