Jed Whedon Talks Ghost Rider Status In AOS
One of the best parts of the first half of Agents of Shield Season 04 was easily the arrival of Robbie Reyes, aka Ghost Rider. He brought a powerful dark and mystical side to the TV side of the MCU, and fans were really happy with his portrayal. However, at the end of the midseason finale, Ghost Rider disappeared along with his uncle, Eli Morrow. Who turned out to be the big bad of the first arc.
With their disappearance, and the rumors of a Ghost Rider series possibly coming, fans wanted to know definitively whether Robbie is alive or not. Thankfully, producer Jed Whedon talked to TVLine about this, and gave some insights:
“He is trapped in another place,” Whedon revealed, “which usually means that he’s not dead.”
Furthermore, he noted why Reyes wasn’t going to be in the full season:
“[Ghost Rider is] a lot for 22 [episodes], especially with everything else that we like and care about on the show… It would feel like one flavor over a long period of time, but we’ve certainly left it open.”
The potential for a Ghost Rider return has been teased multiple times, and multiple ways in the way of Johnny Blaze, who was confirmed to be the first Ghost Rider. So all we have to do is wait and see what happens next.
