Jeffrey Dean Morgan Is Totally Up For Playing Flashpoint Batman
There’s a lot of questions in the DC Comics Film Universe right now, and a lot of it is surrounding the Flashpoint film that’s in the works right now. The film has been in early stages for years now, and has lost many directors and writers in the process. The film does seem to be heading towards true production now, and that makes fans all the more curious about what will and won’t be put into the movie from the classic comic. And that includes the question of “who will be Batman?” in the film. Well, for those hoping it would be Jeffrey Dean Morgan, he’s game. He told Total Film:
“I’m highly aware of the character, I will say that. I’m highly aware of the character, and it would probably be a thrill of a lifetime to put on the Batsuit.”
But wait, there’s more, not only is he up for playing the character. He thinks that the Flashpoint Batman is the coolest version of the character ever done:
“what I know about the Flashpoint Batman is, you know, for me, I think he is not only the darkest of the Batmen, but the coolest,” he said. “And I love his whole storyline and who he is and the tortured soul of it all.”
If you’re wondering why Jeffrey Dean Morgan is being considered at all, it’s because he played Thomas Wayne in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, and in the Flashpoint film, Thomas Wayne is Batman. He certainly has the build to play the Flashpoint Batman, and we can’t help but wonder if Zack Snyder and Warner Bros knew Flashpoint was coming when they cast him.
