Just Cause 3: New Extended Gameplay Video Reveals Complete Sandbox Map
The folks at PlayStation Access have released a new 20-minute gameplay video for Just Cause 3 that shows just how huge the open-world, sandbox map is for the upcoming sequel. The game is set in the fictional nation of Medici, the homeland of the game’s protagonist Rico Rodriguez, and the map is a virtual 400 square miles. You can check out the new gameplay video in the player below.
The open world map for the game is massive, however, Gamespot reports that the map is not as big as the sandbox for Just Cause 2 for the previous generation consoles. The trade off is that while the sandbox in Just Cause 3 might be smaller, it will be a lot more dense. The video also features a look at the complete world map for the game, along as some of the traveling features, like when Rodriguez takes a scenic helicopter ride through the mountains. The graphics and dynamic weather for the game look breathtaking, including passing through the wispy clouds of the mountain ranges of Medici. The video goes all across the map, and the environments look beautifully rendered by Avalanche. Players will have to watch out for the authorities of the local dictator while they travel though.
The video also transitions how well you can transition from air travel on a sea plane to using Rico’s parachute and wing suit to acquire a speed boat from a local civilian in the ocean. Just Cause 3 is due out next week on December 1. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
