Justice League/Power Rangers Crossover Coming
Recently, DC Comics has gone to great lengths to create some truly notable crossovers in their comic lineup. It started with Batman ’66 meeting the Green Hornet, setting comic history in the process, as Green Hornet is owned by Dynamite Entertainment. Then, Batman met the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in a crossover with IDW. Batman ’66 returned with crossovers with the British TV show, the Avengers, as well as about to meet Wonder Woman from the Lynda Carter 1977 series.
Now though, the biggest crossover to date is going to happen this January, as the Justice League and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are set to meet in a six issue miniseries. Launching January 11th, the book will be written Tom Taylor (Injustice: Gods Among Us) and drawn by Stephen Byrne (Justice League of America: The Ray).
As for the storyline, an attack on the Power Rangers Command Center leads to Zack, the Black Ranger, accidentally getting transported to the DC Universe. The other Rangers race to get him, and apparently free him from Batman.
As you can see in the full cover reveal below, each team will have six members. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers focuses on their classic lineup, including the Green Ranger, Tommy Oliver.
No doubt the reason for this crossover is the popularity of MMPR right, given their upcoming movie, which will launch in March, and their very popular ongoing series with Boom Studios, who is part of this crossover.
