King Shark Was Almost In Suicide Squad
When it comes to team films, like Avengers, Justice League, Guardians of the Galaxy, and the upcoming Suicide Squad, the question is often which members of the team will make the cut. Any team that’s had a long run in the comics has had numerous shifts in the roster, and it’s up to the people making the film adaptation to decide who would be a good fit for both the film, and for the fans.
The Suicide Squad movie did just that, by picking members from various incarnations of the team, along with members who have never been associated with it before. This of course meant that certain “classic” members got left out. But for some, there was a good reason.
One classic member of the Suicide Squad who almost go in, made most famous by the New 52 run, was King Shark. A character who was both a man, and a shark. As it turns out, King Shark was in the initial script, and was heavily planned for the movie. The problem? He would have to be a completely CGI character, and as director David Ayers notes on Twitter, that was one thing he didn’t want to do:

We’ll have to see whether his decision was the right one when Suicide Squad arrives August 5th.
