Legend of Zelda Wii U Still Coming To Wii U
Despite showing off a new Legend of Zelda title for the 3DS, titled Triforce Heroes, at their E3 Digital Event, there was no trace of it’s console counterpart Legend of Zelda Wii U at the show. Though we knew it was delayed until 2016, many believed that at the very least we would get an update on how it looked, played, or what the story was. And yet…nothing.
Some have now wondered if Nintendo will actually wait and postpone the next Zelda game until their next console, codename NX, will release. Shigeru Miyamoto told IGN that is not going to be the case.
“We’re here to talk about Star Fox but Zelda is still coming to Wii U,” Miyamoto said through an interpreter, “so don’t worry about that.”
Miyamoto continued, “My thing with E3 is that we always focus on what’s coming out in the immediate future. We have some really great Zelda footage and, at some point we will be showing that off, but not today.”
It is encouraging that not only is progress happening for Legend of Zelda Wii U, but it appears to be going well. That being said, I speak for many a Nintendo fanboy when I say…I still wish we could’ve seen it.
