Legendary Pictures Unleashes the Official “Godzilla” Trailer
Legendary Pictures today posted the first teaser trailer for the upcoming “Godzilla” remake coming on May 16, 2014.
Two websites have also gone live. In addition to the official website, a viral website called “Muto Research” is now accessible.
The film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (both Kick-Ass movies), Elizabeth Olsen (both Olsen and Taylor-Johnson will be featured in the upcoming The Avengers: Age of Ultron), Bryan Cranston (“Breaking Bad”), Ken Watanabe, and Juliette Binoche. The movie is being distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, and it will be the last collaboration between Legendary and Warner Bros.
This “Godzilla” is the second attempt at an American version of the long-running Japanese movie franchise. The first version was released in 1998, starring Matthew Broderick, Maria Pitillo and Jean Reno, directed by Roland Emmerich. It was critically panned, and lack of enthusiasm for the film prevented the planned trilogy from being made.
The trailer visually looks quite impressive, with a great shot of the beast by the end. I personally would have liked some more destruction but as an “unveiling” trailer it is quite effective. And what a roar! I have hope that they got this one right.
