LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures Gets a Second Season
Disney and Lucasfilm this week confirmed that LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures will return later this summer for a second season. The show has been nominated for four Daytime Emmy Awards. The story follows the adventures of the Freemakers, who join the Rebellion in the fight against the Empire. You can also check out a sizzle reel for the second season below.
At the end of the first season, the Freemakers opt to join the Rebel Alliance. However, their new circumstances cause them to face brutal Imperial forces, the Hutts, Sith Lords and the Emperor’s latest plaything, the M-OC. The M-OC is a terrifying hunter droid who can continually modify itself to fit any occasion. To stop these threats, Rowan’s powers begin to grow and strengthen until he has a vision of a sleek invulnerable ship that can save the Rebel Alliance and stop the Empire called the Arrowhead. It’s a ship that only Rowan can build.
Additionally, Disney XD will debut five new shorts before the debut of the second season. These will fill in the storytelling gaps in between the two seasons. They will debut on Wednesday, May 4 on Disney XD in celebration of May the 4th Be With You. Lucasfilm also plans to show more of the series at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Florida in April.
New to the cast for season two includes: Nicolas Cantu (Rowan), Vanessa Lengies (Kordi), Eugene Byrd (Zander), Matthew Wood (RO-GR), Trevor Devall (Emperor), Dana Snyder (Graballa), Vanessa Marshall (Hera), Yvette Nicole Brown (Lt. Valeria), Corey Burton (Quarrie), James Urbaniak (M-OC) and Matt Sloan (Darth Vader).
