Lovecraft Tales Launches On Steam Greenlight
Lovecraft Tales, PC game set in dark universe created by one of the most influential horror writer, H.P. Lovecraft, has landed on Steam Greenlight. The game throws player into a gloomy world, full of dark secrets, clandestine cults and atrocious cosmic beings older than Earth. According to the developers, the game mixes elements of classic point and click adventure with some adventure/rpg features, like open world with day and night cycle or advanced player parameters like insanity and hunger.
It all happens in beautiful, hand painted 2d environment, inspired by 19th century paintings of artists such as Caspar David Friedrich. The adventure is driven by non linear story, where the player will be confronted to difficult choices.
In Lovecraft Tales, player freedom is a very important design principle. You won’t be given clear goal and step by step path to achieve it. And more than that, you won’t have to reveal whole story to finish game, it’s all up to you. You will have to connect and interpret game plot by yourself, as an investigator would do with all the loosely connected notes, newspaper articles and letters you’ll find.
Lovecraft Tales already has quite a big world, but it will be even bigger – filled with rotting, shabby cabins, foggy meadows, dark forests and deep, gloomy caves. The game is set to have a number of features, including:
- Horror game with stunning paint like graphics
- Open-World Point and Click
- You will die!
- Survive: preserve your sanity and your health through a nightmarish journey
- Non linear scenario with heavy choices.
It will be also more diverse. You should also prepare for more travelling with survival elements. It is likely, that traversing world will take few game days, during which you will have to eat something, drink, prepare safe place to spend night while keeping and eye on your sanity. You will meet other characters and creatures and be able to talk to them. Their attitude may vary depending of the sum of decisions that you will make. Some of them may help you, others may harm you.
