Mario Kart 8 Has Sold Almost 3.5 Million Copies In First Four Months
Nintendo has announced that Mario Kart 8 has sold 3.49 million copies in its first four months.
The publisher revealed the news when they released their results for the last financial year. This figure includes downloaded and bundled copies, giving an attach rate at 47.8 percent, which is up from 42 percent from Nintendo’s first quarter financial report.
Nintendo also revealed in their financials that they sold 610,000 Wii U consoles in the last quarter, and shipped 1.27 million 3DS/2DS consoles, bringing the total to 2.09 million this year. They still project to sell 3.6 million Wii U consoles and 12 million 3DS/2DS consoles.
As for software, Nintendo revealed that Pokémon X and Y sold 13.29 million units, Tomodachi Life sold 3.12 million units, and Super Smash Bros. 3DS sold 3.22 million units.
Overall, Nintendo posted revenue of ¥9.255 billion ($85.7 million) for the second quarter. For more on Nintendo’s second quarter report, click here.
