Mark Hamill Getting Star Of Hollywood Walk Of Fame
You might think that every celebrity possible has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but you would be wrong. True 2,629 stars have their names immortalized in history, but there are many who aren’t on it yet. One of the biggest ones though is about to have his name checked off that list. The one and only Mark Hamill. That’s right, Luke Skywalker, the Joker, and numerous other characters Hamill has represented over the years is about to be enshrined in history via this star.
The event will take place on March 8, and will be hosted by George Lucas and Harrison Ford, who are, of course, tied to Mark Hamill via Star Wars.
It’s important to note that Hamill isn’t just known for Luke Skywalker, or even the Joker (though both are important to his career). He’s voiced numerous characters over the years, including several in video games and animated series that are key parts of our culture. He was Wing Commander, he was in a Scooby-Doo movie, he voiced Fire Lord Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender, he’s voiced characters in Crash Bandicoot, Spyro the Dragon, and even Kingdom Hearts!
Mark Hamill truly deserves this star, and it’s going to be great knowing his name is going to be etched in history forever.
