Marvel’s Phase 4 To Explore New Worlds and New Times
Though it’s still Phase 3, things are about to get ratcheted up a lot in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The next few years will bring new heroes and the arrival of the major villain that’s been teased for years, Thanos. But, once Avengers 3 and 4 are out, Phase 4 will begin, but what will that entail? Well, a lot apparently.
“We’re looking for worlds that are completely separate—geographically or in time—from the worlds that we’ve already visited,” Disney CEO Bob Iger told Vanity Fair.
What does that mean? Well, Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige had something to say about that:
“22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before—intentionally.”
So, it appears that Marvel is really trying to bring as many of its characters to live via the MCU, and who can blame them? They’ve done very well so far. Next year alone will bring the solo debut of Black Panther, and the arrival of The Wasp via the Ant-Man sequel. Then in 2019, the highly-anticipated arrival of Captain Marvel is set. Add that to sequels for Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and more, and you know that Marvel has big plans for what’s coming.
