Could Matt Ryan’s Constantine Show Up on The CW’s Arrow?
Many DC Comics fans were sad when it became official that Constantine would be cancelled and not picked up by any other networks. Though it didn’t have the biggest viewership, many thought the show deserved another season (not unlike how NBC supported other shows despite low ratings) to show it could grow its audience. Sadly, that didn’t happen. But not unlike comics themselves, it’s possible that Constantine himself could be placed in the Arrow universe very soon. Speaking at Comic-Con to IGN, the cast and crew of Arrow noted how they would very much like this to happen.
“Yeah, we really want to do it,” said Executive Producer Wendy Mericle. “It’s something we’ve been talking to DC about and it’s just a question of some political things, but also the actor’s schedule. We’re trying to work it out, but we don’t know 100 percent if it’s going to happen.”
“Fingers crossed,” added Stephen Amell. “But we’re really optimistic and we would love to have him,” said Mericle.
Famously, when Constantine was first cancelled, Amell tried to save the day by offering to guest star on Constantine if another network picked up the series. Sadly, no one did, but he still could get the chance to work alongside the legendary con man/anti-hero. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Arrow Season 4 arrives on Oct 7th on The CW.
