Nathan Fillion Wants To Be Wonder Man In MCU
With the growing Marvel Cinematic Universe and the DC Extended Universe, it’s not surprising that actors and actresses are vying for roles in these blockbuster films. Legendary actors and actresses like Robert Redford, Nicole Kidman, Glenn Close, William Dafoe, and more have already been in them, so who’s next? Well, if Nathan Fillion has anything to say about it, it’ll be him.
The fan-favorite actor has been a desire for these films for years. He’s already done a lot of voice-acting in superhero films, including animated films, but never live action. But, as noted by ComicBookResources, he has the perfect role in mind for himself. And…he’s kind of already done it in a way. He wants to be Wonder Man, Simon Williams, which he was supposed to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 2…in a way:
“I was going to be an Easter egg in the background…[there was] a Simon Williams Film Festival, and I was in all of the movie posters,” Fillion revealed of the posters’ context in the movie. “If you know the Marvel Universe, Simon Williams becomes Wonder Man, becomes an Avenger. So, he’s part of that universe. It was a neat little Easter egg, it was a neat little piece of the universe. It didn’t get into the movie. That’s fine. That happens all the time. I still had the same wonderful experience. But moving forward, I don’t know, let me see what we can do with this opportunity. That’s just a cleverly disguised opportunity. Am I right?”
Could it happen? Sure! Will it happen? Only time will tell.
