New Consoles May Be $150 Or Lower On Black Friday
Every November, Popgeeks tells you how much stores want for their video game consoles on Black Friday. We’re bringing this up because a store actually leaked their Black Friday ad today, the 27th of October (you wouldn’t create one this early if you didn’t intend to leak it).
There are two possible reasons. One is because Thanksgiving Weekend itself comes early this year, earlier than it has in years — starting November 23. The other reason is the circular in question comes from Kohl’s, and if you were looking for Black Friday sales on games, would Kohl’s be the first ad you checked?
What Kohl’s has done gives us some early insight into what the other stores will probably do, as most Black Friday discounts on popular items tend to be similar. So here’s their price for the Playstation 4: $199.99, with a $60 rebate in the form of Kohl’s Cash, effectively reducing it to $139.99. Pretty sweet. We should point out it’s for the original model, not the PS4 Pro (there’s no mention of the Pro in the Kohl’s ad).
For the XBox One, Kohl’s is selling the S version for $189.99 with a $45 Kohl’s Cash rebate, reducing the cost to $144.99. There is no mention of games on sale for either machine (or if Kohl’s even stocks them), and there may be other versions of the PS4 and XBox offered by other stores that include one bundled in. Point being, it’s too early to decide where to go. But Kohl’s has given us something to think about.
The same ad also offers controllers for both systems at $39.99, plus Sega and Atari Flashback consoles at $40 (though, in those cases, they’d have to pay us to take those away).
