New Destiny Trailer And Beta Details
Bungie has released a brand new trailer for Destiny as part of their presentation at E3. The video, shown above, details a little more information about the story and explains why you are fighting and what you are up against.
Destiny is Bungie’s first new franchise since the release of Halo: CE in 2001. It combines the first-person shooter genre with RPG and MMO elements to allow players to tackle the game alone or as part of a team.
It was first revealed as Project Tiger before being officially unveiled in 2012. Destiny is a completely new franchise that will see multiple games and downloadable content packs over a 10-year period.
Reuters revealed earlier in the year that the title has a budget of $500 million, making it the most expensive game ever made, eclipsing the cost to market and develop Grand Theft Auto V.
Along with the brand new gameplay footage, Bungie and Sony jointly announced that the “first look” alpha of the game will be available from Thursday on PlayStation 4. You can sign up for the exclusive sneak preview at PlayStation’s Greatness Awaits website and entering the required personal information.
The full beta of the game will follow on July 17 and is again exclusive to Sony’s next generation console.
Another announcement coming out of E3 regarding Bungie’s brand new franchise is that Sony will be making a special bundle available for customers to buy. The $449 special edition deal comes with a “glacier white” console and controller along with a copy of Destiny and a 30-day PlayStation Plus code to redeem on the PlayStation Network. The special controllers can also be bought separately for $59.
Destiny will officially launch on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 9 of this year, with versions for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 to come sometime later.
