New Splatoon Amiibo Due Out This Summer
Nintendo has officially revealed that two new Amiibo figurines are going to be released this July for the hit Wii U game Splatoon. Gamers will now be able to own the Squid Sister pair of Callie and Marie. You can check out the announcement tweet and reveal video of the new Amiibo below.
The Callie and Marie figures are due out on July 8. However, that’s not the only reason to get excited about Splatoon Amiibo figures. Nintendo also confirmed that there will be new colors of Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy and Inkling Squid Amiibo figures that will launch on the same day. The latter three with the new colors will be available as a bundled pack of three for the SRP of $34.99.
The good news for fans is that they will have the option of purchasing Callie and Marie together as a bundle pack or individually for the SRP of $12.99 for the single packs or $24.99 for the bundle.
The Amiibo craze, with Nintendo getting into the toys-to-life business, has paid dividends for the company. It’s really revived Nintendo sales in many ways. The company recently revealed that it shipped 24.7 million physical Amiibo figures in its last fiscal year (via Gamespot). It doesn’t look like its going away anytime soon.
