New Walking Dead RPG Cleans Up On Kickstarter
When Adam and Brady Sadler placed their new Walking Dead RPG tabletop game on Kickstarter, they expected the license to buy them some extra support, but it’s gone beyond what anyone expected. The funding goal was $250,000, and it wound up with $433,644 (and it may get more; late pledges are currently being accepted).
No Sanctuary is based on the third season of the show and designed for one to four players. One player assumes the Rick role and the others decide whether or not to obey him — though the “Rick Figure” can really be anyone. Make it Abraham or Xnarbulak From The Planet Xnorkron, or Poppin’ Fresh, or whoever you want. Gameplay is driven by cards and each campaign takes roughly an hour.
When the campaign first started, the creators offered an extra Lori figure if goals were met. Since then, stretch goal after stretch goal has been blown through and it’s now possible to get Sasha, Morgan, the Governor, an alternate Glenn figure in riot gear, the limbless zombies Michonne is dragging around when we first meet her, ten residents of Woodbury to be created later, five well Walkers and ten crawling Walkers. Additional campaigns have also been added, such as Fort Benning and the Woodbury Arena. This is now a very packed game.
As of this writing it’s still not too late to pledge, but we can’t tell you how long the late pledge button will remain active. The page contains several videos of the product, among them the how-to-play tutorial we’ve embedded below.
