New X-Men Cast Photos Appear, Plus, Is Apocalypse To End The Series For Now?
X-Men: Apocalypse is easily one of the of most highly anticipated movies in X-Men history. Due in no small part to the new direction the series is allowed to go into thanks to the events of Days Of Future Past.
However, if a rumor caught by Screen Crush is any indication, Apocalypse could be the end of the saga that Bryan Singer started.
Now for the record, this is far from confirmed, and if money has any say in this, (hint: it does), it may just continue without him, not unlike how other films in the series were made without him at the end. In fact, as noted above, Days of Future Past basically retconned much of what happened in the original trilogy and the Origins film, so the slate is truly wiped clean for them to keep going. And we all know there are plenty of X-Men villains and storylines that haven’t been touched yet.
Singer also noted how just because Scott, Jean, and Storm, are in Apocalypse, they aren’t the characters we know from the original saga.
“They’re as much a part of the movie as our main cast,” Kinberg said. “Scott is not yet the squeaky-clean leader. Storm is a troubled character who is going down the wrong path in life. And Jean is complex, interesting and not fully mature. It’s fun to see someone struggling with their powers when you know one day they’ll become the most powerful person in the world.”
Also, some new pics grabbed from the set of Apocalypse (and shown on Twitter) show off some of the cast, key among them is Jubilee and Jean Grey.
